In statements reproduced by the Trackhouse team's press office, the Almada-born rider considered the result to have been "a bit disappointing".
"It was a bit disappointing because I had some issues with the front tire or with the front end [suspension] itself. Basically, the front was sliding a lot, both under braking and in the middle of the corners when accelerating, so I risked falling even at low speed", explained Miguel Oliveira.
The Portuguese rider considered the bike's behaviour to be "really strange".
"I tried to attack and not fall at the same time. I can't say what the reasons are for this happening, but something was really wrong. The team is trying to figure out what happened to prevent it from happening again tomorrow [on Sunday], in the main race", said the Portuguese rider.
Miguel Oliveira also regretted not having been able to do better than 12th place in qualifying, even so the best result of the year.
"In Q1 I had a good performance but then, in Q2, I had three consecutive laps in which I caught yellow flags, so I couldn't do better", he stressed.
Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati) won the sprint race and cemented his leadership in the MotoGP World Championship.
Miguel Oliveira dropped one position, to 14th place, with 23 points.
The main race will be held on Sunday, for which the Portuguese rider will start from 12th position.
