French MotoGP breaks attendance record with nearly 300,000 at Le Mans
The French MotoGP Grand Prix, the fifth round of the Motorcycle World Championship, broke the historical audience record over the weekend, with a total of 297,471 fans in Le Mans, the organization reported today.

The previous maximum was also set in France, in 2023, with the circuit receiving 278,805 spectators, on the occasion of the commemoration of the thousandth Grand Prix.
"Almost 300,000 people over the weekend is absolutely incredible and is testament to a world-class job done. The event is exactly what we want: stunning racing on a packed track, combined with a full schedule of activities and entertainment to make every minute of the weekend special for every fan," highlighted Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, holder of the MotoGP rights.
According to the official, the atmosphere in Le Mans "is legendary, and rightly so" and "the incredible roar of the crowd is one of the purest expressions of passion for the sport in the world and it is a privilege to hear it".
Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) retired on Sunday due to mechanical problems.
The French GP was won by Spaniard Jorge Martín (Ducati), who cemented the championship lead, with 129 points, against Bagnaia's 91 and Márquez and Enea Bastianini's (Ducati) 89, while Miguel Oliveira is 14th, with 23.
