Very affordable Chinese electric brand confirmed in Portugal
Leapmotor starts operations in Europe in September 2024.

A new Chinese car brand will be marketed in Portugal from September this year. Leapmotor, which is now part of the Stellantis group, will expand into Europe and will reach nine countries on the old continent, including ours.
The two vehicles that Leapmotor will start selling are the T03, an electric car with a range of 265 kilometers, and the C10, a family car in the D segment that offers a range of up to 420 km.
In October last year, Leapmotor and Stellantis announced that the group led by Carlos Tavares would invest around 1.5 billion to acquire approximately 21% of the capital of Leapmotor, an automobile company that in 2023 was in the top 3 of new Chinese electric vehicle companies. The agreement also provided for the creation of Leapmotor International, which would have exclusive rights to export, sell and manufacture Leapmotor products outside China.
"The creation of Leapmotor International represents a major step forward in helping to solve the urgent issue of global warming with state-of-the-art electric models, which will compete with Chinese brands present in major markets around the world," said Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis.
"Leveraging our global presence, we will soon be able to offer our customers competitively priced, technology-focused electric vehicles that will exceed their expectations. Under the leadership of Tianshu Xin, a compelling global strategy has been developed to rapidly expand sales distribution channels, driving Leapmotor's growth and generating value for both partners," added the Portuguese businessman.
