Very rare Ford GT reinforces the Caramulo Museum collection
One of only 343 units that evoke the victory at Le Mans 1968 and 1969.

The Caramulo Museum now has a new and rare Ford GT, the heir to the GT40 that won four editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, between 1966 and 1969.
The unit now on display at the Caramulo Museum is one of only 343 produced (the result of the commemorative edition GT Heritage Paint Livery Package), painted in the colors of Gulf Oil, and which evokes the victories of the Ford GT40 in Le Mans in 1968 (with Pedro Rodriguez and Lucien Bianchi at the wheel) and in 1969 (driven by Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver).
Equipped with its 550 hp V8 engine, which allows a maximum speed of 330 km/h, the Ford GT can be seen from Tuesday to Sunday at the Caramulo Museum.
This prototype of the new GT, designed by Camillo Pardo, has many similarities to the original model from the 1960s, in a line that evokes not only its lines but also its competitive and winning character. Due to a legal issue related to the rights to the name GT40, the new standard-bearer of the American brand would become known simply as the Ford GT.
