It was at the Ecar Show, at the Lisbon International Fair (FIL), that Polestar presented its latest model, the Polestar 4, in Portugal. Orders are open and, according to the brand, the first units will start to be delivered next August.
The prices? The version with a single engine starts at 66,700 euros, while the variant with a double engine starts at 73,700.
This, it should be noted, is the brand's fastest production model and promises an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds in its most powerful version (544 hp).
With two versions available in terms of engines (it can have two or just one), the Polestar 4 with a single Long Range engine produces a total of 272 hp and 343 Nm of torque and offers a range of up to 620 km, thanks to a 102 kWh battery. In the Long Range dual-engine version, the battery is the same but the range drops to 590 km. However, the power is 544 hp and 686 Nm of torque.
Both versions include charging capacity up to 200 kW DC and 22 kW AC, and the charging port is motorized. The bidirectional charging function is included, with vehicle-to-load (V2L) capacity, making it possible to supply power to external devices from the Polestar 4.
Equipped with Mobileye's 'SuperVision Advanced Driver Assistance System', the Polestar 4 comes standard with a total of twelve cameras, one radar and twelve ultrasonic sensors. In addition, this safety system also features a driver monitoring camera, which only transmits data and does not record video, to monitor the driver's head and eye movements, helping to prevent accidents related to fatigue or incapacity.
Inside the Polestar, there is a 14.7-inch head-up display, where key information about the car, phone and navigation will be available, and in the center a 10.2-inch touch multimedia screen, which includes information about speed, battery and autonomy.
No rear window... how do we look back?
The panoramic glass roof occupies the entire roof, from the driver's area to the passengers in the back, and contains a special feature that allows it to become both transparent and opaque.
However, in the area where the panoramic roof ends, the rear window should start, right? Not in the Polestar 4. There is no rear window, but the rearview mirror allows you to look back.
The traditional rearview mirror has been replaced by a high-definition screen capable of displaying real-time information from a rear camera mounted on the roof, which according to Polestar itself allows "a much wider field of vision than most modern cars".
The digital feed can be turned off to allow drivers to see the occupants in the back, if necessary.
