Porsche has revamped the 911 lineup and introduced the first-ever hybrid 911

The new engine has a 3.6-liter displacement and offers improved performance. The 911 Carrera GTS Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 312 km/h, thanks to 541 hp and 610 Nm of torque.

Porsche describes the T-Hybrid system as "a lightweight and powerful" system. It features a newly developed electric exhaust gas turbocharger. An integrated electric motor, situated between the compressor and the turbine wheel, accelerates the turbocharger instantaneously. This builds up pressure immediately.

"The electric motor in the exhaust gas turbocharger also acts as a generator, which provides around 11 kW (15 hp) of electrical power. This energy is extracted from the exhaust gas flow. The wastegate-free electric turbocharger enables a significantly more dynamic and responsive power delivery compared with the predecessor with a single turbocharger," Porsche explains.

It should be noted that the 911 GTS hybrid also features a permanent magnet synchronous motor integrated into the new eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual-clutch transmission.

In addition to the hybrid model, the 911 Carrera is also available in this update. It's powered by an updated 3.0-liter twin-turbo boxer engine that offers a power boost over its predecessor – it now has 394 hp and 450 Nm of torque.

According to Porsche, the new 911 range has also received updates in terms of design, aerodynamics, and features a more digital interior.
