Nine rock and metal bands in Oliveira de Frades
Nine rock and metal bands will participate in the first edition of the rock music festival in Oliveira de Frades, the person responsible for the organization told Lusa agency today.

"Oliveira de Frades is a region that has many fans of this musical style and they participate a lot in the region's festivals. So, we decided to organize one in this municipality, since there is this gap", justified José Rocha.
Responsible for organizing rock festivals and events in some municipalities in the district of Viseu, such as Mangualde, the oldest, which will hold its 30th edition in 2025, José Rocha defended that "festivals do not have to happen only in large cities".
"When we organized the first edition in Mangualde, we never imagined that we would be celebrating practically 30 editions, with a pandemic in between. Oliveira de Frades will also start as an experience, but the idea is to continue", he pointed out.
The festival is scheduled for May 4th, from 5 pm to 2 am, at the São Vicente de Lafões pavilion, a parish in Oliveira de Frades, in the district of Viseu, and the program includes nine bands, both local and nationally renowned.
José Rocha said that, from Lisbon, the band Irae will be present, "one of the main bands" of the festival, although Biolence, from Vila Nova de Gaia, "are the headliners, in a year in which they celebrate 25 years of their career".
From Porto, Pé Roto and Moonshade will take to the stage and Evillution will travel from the municipality of Felgueiras, also in the district of Porto.
From the district, he said, Zurrapa, from Viseu, are part of the poster, as well as Tumulo, Raven Horse, from Valadares, in São Pedro do Sul, and Voto Nulo perform at home, since they are from the municipality of Oliveira de Frades.
"These bands also mix styles, from punk rock to the most extreme metal, passing through the traditional, because the idea is to have a little bit of variety to please everyone", justified José Rocha.
