The three finalists of this year's edition of the contest were chosen among 30 new authors and bands, in qualifying rounds that took place in Portel, Sabugal, Porto, Matosinhos, Aveiro, Alcochete, Odemira, Guarda, Lamego and Óbidos.

Maria Roque, from Castelo Branco, created the MaZela project in 2020 and released her first single, "Naveguei (onde outros vão)", in December. Maria Roque's voice and guitar can be heard on the track "Canção a Zé Mário Branco", which is part of the album "2 de Abril" by A Garota Não.

In the year that Maria Roque started the MaZela project, Vasco Ribeiro & Os Clandestinos released their debut album, "Mais um dia".

The group, which was formed in 2018 and combines traditional Portuguese music with 'folk', released a new work in April, "Formas de Estar".

Filipe Furtado, who was born and raised in Ponta Delgada, but in 2010 traded the Azores for Coimbra, performs live in a trio, accompanied by drummer Paulo Silva and saxophonist Filipe Fidalgo.

The musician has a second album scheduled for release in the second half of this year.

The final of the Termómetro Festival is scheduled for 9:30 pm on Saturday, at the Capitólio, in Lisbon, and will have PAUS and CAOS, the new format, album and show by PAUS, as special guests.

In the new format, the Siamese drum band features Iúri Oliveira on percussion, João Cabrita on wind instruments, and Iguana Garcia on guitar.

The winner of the Termómetro Festival will have guaranteed performances at the Alive festivals (which will take place between July 11 and 13 at the Algés Promenade, in the municipality of Oeiras), Bons Sons (which will take place between August 8 and 11 in the village of Cem Soldos, Tomar), and Vodafone Paredes de Coura (scheduled for August 14 to 17 in the Minho village that gives it its name).

In addition, they will record a 'video clip' and have access to 10 hours of recording in the studio.

Since 1994, more than 500 bands and artists have participated in the Termómetro Festival, including Ornatos Violeta, B Fachada, Capicua, DJ Ride, Mazgani, Ana Bacalhau, David Fonseca, Noiserv, Richie Campbell, Whales, Salto and Tatanka.
