It's been about a week since the final of the most controversial edition of Eurovision. Although the event has already culminated, there are still controversies related to the festival, most of them related to Israel's participation in the contest.
It should be recalled that several delegations complained of being targeted by the Israeli team. Among them were Greece, Switzerland, Ireland and the Netherlands... and Portugal joined them, after members of the Portuguese delegation at the Eurovision Festival said they had witnessed cases of harassment and persecution by members of the Israeli delegation present backstage at the Malmö Arena. Although it decided to maintain a more neutral position, Spain, which was represented by Nebulossa, has now joined the role of complaints. According to 20 minutes, RTVE had already asked the festival organizers to guarantee freedom of expression after the Israeli press harassed a Spanish journalist. The delegation from the neighboring country tried to deal with this issue discreetly, but has now made it public. It should be recalled that Portugal's complaint was also related to the fact that Iolanda's performance was not published on social networks after her performance, as happened with the other participants. The origin of this situation is the fact that the Portuguese singer performed on stage with her nails painted with the pattern of the popular 'keffiyeh', a scarf that is a symbol of Palestinian resistance. The Israeli delegation, on the other hand, considers that it was the target of "an unprecedented demonstration of hatred" by other countries and their competitors at the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Malmö, Sweden, between May 7 and 11. The 68th edition of the event was marked by protests - both outside and backstage - against Israel's participation, taking into account the scale of the conflict with Hamas.
