The festival line-up will include Lluís Gomes Bluegrass Quartet (Spain), Boom Ditty (France), Blue Weed (Italy), Rain of Animals (Scotland/Australia) and Portuguese band Fado N´Grass, a source from the organisation responsible for the event, Recreios Desportivos da Trafaria (RDT) Casino, told Lusa news agency.

The Trafaria Bluegrass Festival - Where the Tagus Meets the Sea, with artistic direction by André Dal, will present performances by bands in the church, prison and bandstand of Trafaria, as well as on the stage of the RDT Casino.

The third edition of the musical event once again aims to "celebrate the intercultural encounter centred on 'bluegrass' music, a traditional North American genre with roots in the Appalachian Mountains and whose origins lie in the fusion of African-American 'jazz' and 'blues' with Anglo-Saxon 'folk' music", the organisation also states in a press release.

The line-up includes six bands, five international and one Portuguese, in an edition in which the musical fusion with other styles will be highlighted, and 'jam sessions' will be organised that bring together musicians from all over the world, "in a spirit full of sharing and musical communion".

There will also be music 'masterclasses' with various artists who will teach how to play the banjo, mandolin, violin or guitar, 'Clogging' dance workshops, local gastronomy, traditional games, street entertainment, ecological 'workshops'.

Guided tours are also planned in partnership with the Centro de Arqueologia de Almada, through the main monuments in the Trafaria area, which help to tell the history of the region.

The Trafaria Bluegrass Festival, open to all ages, is organised by the local association Recreios Desportivos da Trafaria and the artist André Dal, with the support of the Câmara Municipal de Almada and the Junta da União das Freguesias da Caparica e Trafaria, as well as various local entities.
