According to the promoter Sons em Trânsito, in a statement released today, The Black Mamba will present "Last Night in Amsterdam" on January 17 at the Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon, and on January 24 at the Coliseu do Porto.
Next year the band will celebrate 15 years of career, and the date "will not go unnoticed in these concerts", which will have Tatanka (vocals and guitar), Miguel Casais (drums), Marco Pombinho (keys), Gui Salgueiro (keys), Rui Pedro "Pity" (bass) and Xico Fernandes (percussion) as hosts. At the coliseums, The Black Mamba, whose sound is characterized as funk, blues and soul, will bring an "immersive show that goes through not only their career, but also the extraordinary experiences of the group in Amsterdam, which gave rise to the new album". Formed in 2010, The Black Mamba have released three albums. The most recent, "The Mamba King", which came out six years ago, is the band's first in which the songs are all sung in English. "We had, in the first two albums, songs completely in Portuguese, which we continue to play live, we like to pay homage to our language. In this one we don't, and it has a bit to do with my solo career, in which one of the main differences is the language. I'm going to leave Portuguese for my solo career", said the band's vocalist, Pedro Tatanka, in an interview with Lusa in 2018. Pedro Tatanka made his solo debut in 2019 with the album "Pouco Barulho", inspired by folk music and sung entirely in Portuguese. Two years later, in 2021, The Black Mamba represented Portugal at the 65th Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and reached 12th place in the final, with the song "Love is on my side".
