"'Casa' is where I come from, dedicated to traditional fado and [fado] classics, and 'Água' takes me to other sounds," Pedro Moutinho explained to the Lusa agency, the title of the album, on the eve of its release, at the end of last year.

On stage at the Tivoli, next January, the fado singer, already distinguished with an Amália Rodrigues Award, will review other themes from his repertoire in addition to those from the new album and will have some guests.
Regarding the construction of the album, the fado singer said: "The first theme that came to me was 'Carolina', which ended up being the first 'single', but then I started to gather and talk to the poets, who would be the partners they liked; Amélia Muge, for example, wanted to make a partnership with Mário Laginha, and also, as a composer, with João Monge".
The creator of 'Um Copo de Sol' (Amélia Muge) mentioned his desire to "sing other things" besides exclusively fado.
"I love singing fado and I will sing fado for the rest of my life and I love singing traditional songs. This does not mean that I do not like singing other things and songs, for me it gives me immense pleasure," said Pedro Moutinho.
"I don't have to prove anything to anyone, I've been here for so many years; the other day I tried to count the traditional fados that I have already sung and there are around forty," he said.
The album consists of nine themes. Amélia Muge, the author and composer that Pedro Moutinho has sung the most, signs the music for the theme that gives the album its title, 'Casa de Água', with lyrics by João Monge, and signs the lyrics for 'Algo que Esvoaça', which Mário Laginha set to music.
The fado singer Teresinha Landeiro also signs two themes: 'A Viagem', which Pedro Moutinho recorded at Fado Magala, by Raul Portela, and 'Dança', set to music by Pedro de Castro.
'Um Resto da Mouraria' (Carlos Conde/Martinho de Assunção) opens the album's line-up which also includes 'Imprevisto' (Maria do Rosário Pedreira/Fado Louco, by Alfredo Duarte Marceneiro), 'Sem Volta' (Maria do Rosário Pedreira/Fado Solene, by Alberto Correia), 'Noite de Saudade' (Florbela Espanca/Carminho), and 'Carolina' (Francisca Cortesão/João Correia).
In the hall on Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon, Pedro Moutinho will be accompanied by the usual musicians; André Dias, on the Portuguese guitar, Pedro Soares, on the viola, and Daniel Pinto 'Didi', on the bass.
'Casa de Água' follows 'Fado em Nós' (2016) and is the seventh album by the fado singer who became known professionally in 1995, at the Clube de Fado, in Lisbon, having been distinguished with an Amália Award/Best Album, in 2008.
