The exhibition, according to the presentation text released by Casa da Arquitectura, in the district of Porto, "crosses the reading routes between the drawings that interpret the city, by Atelier Ana Aragão, and the unprecedented stories that the maps tell about the urban space, penned by Gonçalo M. Tavares".

The two creators thus propose a journey through the line that they say is common between the one who draws and the one who writes, unveiling the city and demonstrating how "everything can be mapped": "Maps are ideas, words, drawings, lines placed in a space. [...] Tragedies are mappable, and so are joys. Everything can end up on a map and the map can start everything that is announced on it".

For Ana Aragão and Gonçalo M. Tavares, "the map is not only a representation of the square metre and of the vast world, but also a cartography of pains and contentment, of mishaps and almost sublime moments" that can be found in the urban space and to which the exhibition confers "visual and literary space".

The opening, scheduled for 4 pm, is followed by a conversation between Ana Aragão and Gonçalo M. Tavares with the writer Pedro Mexia and the architect Camilo Rebelo, moderated by the architect Mariana Sendas, in the Álvaro Siza Space of Casa da Arquitectura.

At 7 pm, in the same location, the documentary 'Habitar', directed by Joaquín Mora, produced by channel 180, will be screened, portraying "current ways of living" in Porto, "highlighting the relationship between inhabitant and dwelling", through nine residents of the city, the diversity of their homes and the bond that each one establishes with the place they inhabit, according to its synopsis.

The screening of the film will be followed by the conversation 'The House We Want to Inhabit', with the director Joaquín Mora and the architects Pedro Ramalho and Samuel Gonçalves.

On Sunday, at 11 am, there will be a guided tour of the exhibition, with Ana Aragão.

'City, House, Body -- The Maps and the Language' opens to the public today at 10 am and will be on display until 29 September.

The exhibition has free admission this weekend.
