Speaking to journalists at the end of the session that marked the 60th anniversary of the death of writer Aquilino Ribeiro, at the National Pantheon in Lisbon, Dalila Rodrigues said that "this is excellent news".

"Cinema, architecture, visual arts, literature are showing great vitality. It is not necessary to participate in competitions to recognise vitality and value, but when we win these international awards, obviously, we should all be congratulated", said the minister.

Dalila Rodrigues said that she will call the two directors to congratulate them and that when they return to Portugal she will await them "with lively greetings of recognition".

The minister took the opportunity to take stock of the first 30 days of government, stressing that it has been "very positive", both for the various cultural activities within the scope of the 50th anniversary of 25 April, as well as for the commemorations of the 500th anniversary of the birth of Luís de Camões, which are "about to begin", or the International Museum Day, when the first cultural policies in the area of heritage were presented.
