The 'king' of Brazilian romantic music, Roberto Carlos, 83 years old and with over 60 years of career, starts his new tour in Europe with three concerts in Portugal.

The first one will take place on September 19th, at the Coliseu Micaelense, in the city of Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores. Tickets are already sold out, but they previously generated controversy due to their prices.

Unlike what happens at the Meo Arena, in Lisbon, and at the Fórum Braga, where ticket prices for the shows start at 45 euros, to see Roberto Carlos at the Coliseu Micaelense the public had to pay, at least, 90 euros.

On social media, many criticized this discrepancy in prices and, according to the Coliseu Micaelense, there were even those who, "in a rude and malicious way", used the Bol platform, for selling tickets online, and blocked seats "with no intention of buying them, with the sole purpose of harming other interested parties".

Faced with this situation, the Coliseu Micaelense explained, on its Facebook page, that "the show by the singer Roberto Carlos is an exclusive production by Coliseu dos Recreios - Ricardos Covões, S.A., with the participation of Coliseu Micaelense E.M. S.A, in the provision of the venue for the event in Ponta Delgada", also clarifying that "the ticket prices were set by the show's promoter, Coliseu dos Recreios - Ricardos Covões, S.A".

The Notícias ao Minuto tried, several times, to talk to Ricardo Covões but, so far, it has not been possible to establish contact.

To RTP Açores, the president of the CA of the Coliseu Micaelense, Cila Simas, reiterated the explanations already given on social media. "This show is entirely by Coliseu dos Recreios, which is not covered by the program we have with the City Council, therefore, there is not a cent from our citizens. This show has been in the works since last year by Coliseu dos Recreios. It was not easy for Roberto to agree to come and sing in such a small venue", she said, recalling that this is a more intimate concert than those that will be held in Mainland Portugal.

"Coliseu dos Recreios set the prices as they saw fit, not to lose money, of course. It is an intimate concert. We cannot fail to mention that we are not in a stadium, we are in a concert where there are 1,150 people", she highlighted.

For the 1,150 people who got a ticket, its price is a price that "is worth paying", since this may be Roberto Carlos' last tour. So much so that, in just a few minutes, the cheapest tickets (90 euros) sold out and, in three days, even the most expensive ones (220 euros) had already been sold.

For the shows in Braga and Lisbon there are still several tickets at different prices.
