According to the promoter Música no Coração, in a statement released today, the 28th SBSR "will welcome the return of true legends of Portuguese music -- the legendary Mind Da Gap - on July 20". On that day, Mind Da Gap's plan is to "break everything". "As we have always done and that is what we want to keep doing", they told Lusa today. Formed in Porto in 1993 as Da Wreckas, Mind Da Gap are Ace, Presto and Serial. The group was also one of the pioneers of the so-called Porto rap, which paved the way for collectives and artists such as Dealema (Maze, Mundo, Expeão, Fuse and Guze), Keso, Virtus, Berna, Capicua or Conjunto Corona. In 1995, they released their self-titled debut EP, which was followed, two years later, by 'Sem Cerimónias', one of the albums that marked the history of rap in Portugal and which includes tracks such as 'Dedicatória', 'És como um dom' and 'Falsos amigos'. Throughout more than 20 years of career they released five more original albums, which include tracks such as 'Todos gordos', 'Bazamos ou ficamos?', 'Invicta', 'Tilhas? São sapatilhas', 'Não para', 'A essência' and 'És onde quero estar'. In the various albums they collaborated with, among others, Sam The Kid, Valete, Da Weasel, Dealema, Melo D and Carla Moreira. The group's discography also includes the EP 'Flexogravity', recorded with Blind Zero in 1996, and the compilation 'Matéria Prima 1997-2007', which included hits, but also some original tracks. The group's last album, 'Regresso ao futuro', was released in 2012. Four years later, they put an end to their career. In an interview with Lusa in July last year, Ace shared that Mind Da Gap having ended the way they did was, "without a doubt", the worst moment of their 30-year career: "The worst was having reached a point where we no longer understood each other". The best, however, was having "managed to win". "Having managed to reach the level we reached, to step on the stages we stepped on, to reach so many people, to really touch people with our music. And having opened doors and being an inspiration and reference for so many others who followed", he said at the time. Asked today by Lusa whether this return to the stage could mean a return of the group, the members of Mind Da Gap replied: "one day at a time". At SBSR, the line-up will be made up of the many tracks already recorded, since there are "no new tracks" from Mind Da Gap. The 28th SBSR is scheduled for July 18, 19 and 20, at Herdade do Cabeço da Flauta, near Meco, in Sesimbra. For the day Mind Da Gap performs, the last day, Stormzy, Fisher and Vulfpeck have also been confirmed. This year's line-up also includes Måneskin, 21 Savage, Royal Blood, Tom Morello, Slow J, Capitão Fausto, Will Butler + Sister Squares, Aminé, Fridayy and Kenny Mason, among others. In the statement released today, the SBSR organisation states that "mobility is one of the main focuses in the preparation of the festival". "In order to prevent crowds and congestion, the organisation recommends that the public arrive at the venue [which opens at 4 pm] early, strictly follow the instructions of the competent authorities and, above all, use the reinforced public transport and the various alternative mobility options", reads the statement. This year, the promoter has partnered with Ala Viagens - which ensures round-trip bus service from Aveiro, Braga, Coimbra, Guimarães, Porto and Lisbon -, with Fertagus, Carris Metropolitana and the Sesimbra Municipal Council -- Fertagus trains from Lisbon to Coina station, and Carris Metropolitana buses from Coina station to the festival.
