Luis Rubiales released. He refused to testify before the Guardia Civil

Luis Rubiales, the former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), was released on Wednesday after refusing to testify before the Guardia Civil. The former RFEF president will now wait to be notified by a judge to testify, El Mundo reports.
Rubiales was arrested on Wednesday morning when he arrived at Barajas airport from Punta Cana. He was stopped by the Guardia Civil and the Central Operations Unit while still on the plane.
It is worth remembering that an investigation is underway into alleged irregularities in contracts, unfair administration, money laundering and membership of a criminal organisation.
The Spanish Guardia Civil believes that Rubiales diverted at least 3.8 million euros to the construction company Gruconsa and another company between 2020 and 2022. The money was then allegedly transferred to a company run by a friend and partner of Luis Rubiales.
