Nani has given an extensive interview to this Saturday's edition of British newspaper Mirror, in which he recalled some of the most remarkable moments of his career, including, of course, winning the Champions League in 2008, playing for Manchester United. At the time, the Portuguese international was only 21 years old, and he was forced to convert the fifth major penalty of the 'shoot-out' against Chelsea, since his compatriot, Cristiano Ronaldo, had already wasted his opportunity. A move that, he confessed, moved him. "When I saw Cristiano miss the penalty, the first of the tie-breaker, it made us a little nervous, but, since we had scored first, we continued to believe that we could win. That's what I thought, on the way to the penalty", he began by saying. "I just have to score my penalty, and then the pressure is not on me, it's on the others. But it was difficult, when I looked at the goal and saw Petr Cech, who is so big, I thought 'Where am I going to put the ball?, and he almost defended", he continued. "But, at that age, I was very brave. I was not afraid of any player on the field, even if that player wanted to kill me. He could kill me, but I always thought I was stronger than him", he added. Finally, the forward, currently 37 years old and playing for Adana Demirspor, in Turkey, confessed that he hopes to remain active until he is 40: "I stay fit and professional.
