The much-anticipated Old Firm in the 32nd round of the Scottish football top flight promised a lot... and it delivered in full, with a real 'deluge' of goals, which culminated in a 3-3 draw between Rangers and Celtic.

The Ibrox Stadium scoreboard started working after just... 21 seconds, thanks to an accurate shot by Daizen Maeda, a Japanese international who, it is worth remembering, represented Marítimo during the 2019/20 season, on loan from Matsumoto Yamaga, scoring four goals in 24 games.

Matt O'Riley extended the lead, before the half-time whistle, and gave the impression that the Glasgow derby was already over. However, there was still a lot of story to tell in the second half.

At 55 minutes, James Tavernier scored from the spot, and at 86, Abdallah Sima restored equality. However, the home team's party lasted only... two minutes, as Paulo Bernardo, who came off the bench, assisted Adam Idah's goal.

Three minutes after the 90, it was Rabbi Matondo's turn to do his thing, sealing a result that leaves Rangers in second place, with 74 points, just one less than the leader, Celtic, at a time when they still have a game in hand.
