Abel Ferreira wins the Paulistão and adds eighth title for Palmeiras

Abel Ferreira has won another title for Palmeiras, the eighth since he arrived in Brazil in 2020. At a disadvantage for having lost the first game, by 1-0, and with the stadium full of Palmeiras fans, Verdão started the match on top of Santos, who ended up losing the second leg of the Campeonato Paulista final by 2-0.
Palmeiras' first goal came after a mistake by the Santos defense and VAR interference: Weverton kicked the ball straight to Endrick, in the attack.
João Paulo was slow to leave the goal and Felipe Jonatan did not protect the ball. Endrick went for the divided ball and ended up being knocked down by the goalkeeper inside the area. Referee Raphael Claus did not score, but went back after a long VAR analysis. Raphael Veiga hit and shook the nets.
The second goal also had the participation of Endrick, who stole the ball from Hayner in midfield. The ball reached the left-back Piquerez, who crossed to the far post. Flaco López adjusted to the middle of the area and Aníbal Moreno completed to the back of the goal.
The 2-0 victory means Abel Ferreira's eighth title in Brazil, revalidating the victories in Paulistão in 2022 and 2023.
