Castro: "Ronaldo did nothing to deserve being sent off. He was provoked"

The captain of the Portuguese national team was sent off for the 12th time in his career, against Al Hilal, managed by Jorge Jesus. Cristiano Ronaldo elbowed an opponent in the chest, near the sideline, to protect the ball, and ended up being sent off for aggression. At the press conference, Luís Castro spoke about the incident, in statements quoted by the newspaper Al Awsat.
"It's difficult to talk about Ronaldo's red card, and we saw several videos at the beginning of the season in which Ronaldo was provoked, and after seeing some of the images Ronaldo did nothing that deserved a red card, and the opposing player acted", said Luís Castro, coach of Al Nassr, after the game.
Then, Castro complained about the goal disallowed for Otávio. "I'm surprised that the referee didn't go to see the video technology on the disallowed goal. The contact was minor between Cristiano and the opposing defender. The video referee should have called the referee of the game to see the video of the sending off."
Regarding the game, Luís Castro admitted mistakes. "We had some difficulties in carrying out attacks in the second half, while Al Hilal took advantage of the opportunities they were given and scored two goals. We also allowed them to have possession of the ball in the second half and we lacked the positivity of the first half", he analysed.
