Almost a year later, Pepe is once again elected defender of the month in the I League

The Portuguese League announced on Tuesday that Pepe has collected the award for best defender of the month in the I League, as a result of the success achieved last March.
The FC Porto centre-back stood out in the 90 minutes he played in each of the four games played in the period in question, against Benfica (5-0), Portimonense (0-3), Vizela (4-1) and Estoril (1-0), with the only defeat coming against the Canaries.
It should be noted that Pepe, who was sent off in the most recent league game against Vitória SC (a 2-1 home defeat), received 19.66% of the votes from the coaches in the competition, beating Ousmane Diomande of Sporting, with 14.53%, and Ricardo Mangas of Vitória SC, with 8.55%.
