Referees will be more strict with protests crowds at Euro'2024
Referees will crack down on protests and player scrums at Euro 2024 in Germany, UEFA's chief refereeing officer said on Tuesday.

"We want to avoid unnecessary cards and protect the image of the game, so we will be strict with player clusters and clear protests. This is to protect the image of the game and create a positive legacy for future generations", said Roberto Rosetti.
The former Italian referee met today with the coaches of the 24 countries that qualified for Euro2024, which will be held from June 14 to July 14, in Germany.
"Unacceptable behaviour from players is a problem for referees. Players will follow you and, if you are calm, your players will be calmer", Rosetti told the coaches.
Another topic discussed at this meeting of the coaches, in Dusseldorf, Germany, including Portugal's coach, the Spaniard Roberto Martínez, was the number of players to be called up.
UEFA said it has not yet made a decision on whether to return to 23 players or keep the 26 called up for the last European Championship, in 2021, in a tournament still affected by the covid-19 pandemic.
"UEFA has taken note of the various opinions and points of view shared, with the final decision to be made in the coming weeks", the organisation added.
