Argentine soccer is in mourning after the death of Florencia Susana Guiñazú, a 30-year-old player who was murdered by her own husband, Ignacio Agustín Notto, according to information provided by the television station TyC Sports.

The athlete, who played for Club Atlético Argentino, was allegedly strangled by her long-time partner in the house they shared in the Las Cañas region of Gran Mendoza. He then took his own life, in an episode that is horrifying public opinion in the South American country.

All of this came to the attention of the authorities through a neighbor, who found a sign posted on the door of their residence, which read "Call the police, the children are alone", referring to their children, a seven-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl.

Florencia Susana Guiñazú had already reported Ignacio Agustín Notto in November of last year, 2023, for a case of domestic violence. However, the couple ended up reconciling and lived together until this tragic moment.
