The Court of the 21st section of the Barcelona Hearing has made the decision this Wednesday to reject the appeals filed by the alleged victim and the Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the decision to grant parole to Dani Alves.

According to the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia, the judges argue that, given the severity of the sentence (four and a half years in prison, resulting from a case of sexual assault), the risk of the Brazilian international fleeing has diminished, so the withdrawal of his passport and weekly appearances are enough to ensure that he does not leave the country.

The 40-year-old player will thus be able to remain free, while awaiting the final verdict on the appeal filed against the sentence, in a case in which he is accused of having raped a young woman in the bathroom of a nightclub in Barcelona in 2022.

The former right-back for clubs such as Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain managed to pay the bail, which was set at one million euros, leaving the prison where he had been held for over a year.
