On Thursday afternoon, André Villas-Boas presented the three names that will be part of the Executive Committee of the SAD portista if his list is the winner in the elections scheduled for the 27th of this month.

The former Porto coach indicated José Luís Andrade to lead the Legal and International Relations areas. He is a member of the executive leadership of the European Club Association (ECA), where he heads the legal department, and a judge at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland (TAS).

João Borges, 44, will head the Operations area. He is an economist, having also worked for Deloitte, Banco Carregosa and the Board of Directors of the Port of Aveiro and Figueira da Foz. In 2022, he became general director of Race for Good, an association founded by Villas-Boas in favor of social and humanitarian causes.

Finally. Tiago Madureira was chosen to lead the Business and International Expansion area. He worked in the Marketing department of Sporting de Braga, before moving to Liga Portugal in 2014, where he became Executive Director until last summer.

These three names are joined by José Pedro Pereira da Costa, financial director, who is part of an executive committee of the SAD led by Villas-Boas.

"Planning, vision and project are urgent. Effective, operational, dedicated, hard-working and detached from any and all extraneous interests are urgent. A management that can look to the future in a holistic way, paving the way for the recovery of FC Porto," declared André Villas-Boas, at the campaign headquarters.

If Madureira highlighted his 37 years as a member and the "honor" of being able to serve the 'blue and white' emblem, sharing "fully the vision and values of André Villas-Boas", José Luís Andrade admitted that he did not think of returning to Portugal.

"There are trains that only pass once, and this decision ended up being easy. The club is in a complicated situation and needs a new direction," he said.

Besides, the candidate for president highlighted the "unstoppable movement" that he feels he is leading, listing the club's financial restructuring, restoration of the 'dragons'' "global reputation", and the "ability to lead by vision, innovation, management and governance models", as priorities.

The goal, he said, is to "integrate credible professionals, executives and non-executives into the teams, who can fulfill the club's global strategy for sustainable growth".

The elections for the social bodies of FC Porto for the four-year period 2024-2028 are contested by three candidacies, led by Pinto da Costa (list A), André Villas-Boas (B), former coach of the football team, and Nuno Lobo (C), businessman and professor, also including an independent list for the Superior Council led by Miguel Brás da Cunha (D).

The electoral act will take place on April 27, between 9:00 am and 8:00 pm, at the Estádio do Dragão, in Porto, at a time when Pinto da Costa is serving his 15th consecutive term, which gives him the status of the leader with the most titles and longevity in world football.
