Marseille coach confident ahead of second leg

Gasset 'warns' Benfica: "We scored four goals against Villarreal..."

Jean-Louis Gasset, the coach of Marseille, revealed himself to be confident for the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Europa League, despite the defeat in the visit to Benfica (1-2), registered on Thursday night. In the press conference, after the match, the French coach remembered the previous rounds to leave a warning to the eagles.

"The last 30 minutes and the goal scored give me great hope for the second leg. The quarter-finals of the Europa League are played in two legs. We couldn’t fall into despair after suffering the first goal. Strangely, we suffered the goal when we were attacking. In the first half, if we had had more criteria, we could have also scored", began by saying Gasset, continuing.

"The fact that the tie is still alive, we will play at home, and we are capable of surpassing ourselves. We scored three goals against Shakhtar and four against Villarreal. That gives us hope. We like to play in our stadium, with our supporters. The players love that. It is excellent for the match within a week. In the Europa League, we dominate less in the away matches than at home. Despite this, we will have to play a perfect match to pass the tie", alerted the coach of Marseille.

It should be noted that the second leg, in France, is scheduled for next Thursday, April 18th.
