Ángel Di María took to social media on Friday to leave a few messages to fans following Benfica's return to winning ways on Thursday against Olympique Marseille (2-1), in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.

Despite the incarnate smile, the team under Roger Schmidt's command left the pitch towards the tunnel leading to the dressing room to the sound of many whistles (and some applause), which led the Argentinian international to leave a few words of encouragement.

"A great step in these first 90 minutes. Congratulations to the team for their effort and sacrifice. Let's go Benfica," he began by writing in a post, followed by a story in which he stated "Together we are stronger", with a photo of the crowd cheering on the Eagles.

It is worth recalling that the return to winning ways against the French side came precisely after two 'stumbles' against Sporting, both in the elimination from the Portuguese Cup (2-2, 4-3 on aggregate) and in the league title race (2-1).
