Official: Benfica 'ties down' young Portuguese international

Benfica reported this Friday that they have reached an agreement with Daniel Banjaqui to sign a professional contract, at a time when he has established himself as one of the highlights of the youth teams.
"This signing was something that moved me. I am very happy. It is a big step for me, but I think it is still a beginning. Above all, it is a vote of confidence from the Club and that will motivate me to work harder", began by saying the 16-year-old defender, in statements to BTV.
"I think this contract is due to my abilities and qualities, but also because of the confidence that the club places in me. I want it to remain and I will work for that and to, one day, reach the main team. It is very good to sign a professional contract with the biggest club in the world", he stressed next.
It should be noted that the young Portuguese international has been at the Luz emblem since 2018/19, when he left Real SC. This season, he has a total of 23 games, still without any goals scored.
