Pinto da Costa leaves a message for André Villas-Boas: "If you had any shame..."
The president of the blue and whites stresses the need to defend "the ideals of independence" without being "subservient to the capital".

Pinto da Costa attended a new session of the re-election campaign for the presidency, this Friday, at the FC Porto da Maia house, where he took the opportunity to express "what it means to be Porto", with several barbs aimed at André Villas-Boas, the main candidate in the elections on 27 April, in addition to Nuno Lobo.
"Being FC Porto means being supportive, being a friend to others, is forming a team as we have formed over 42 years, is defending the ideals of independence, of the north and of not being subservient to the capital. Not seeing FC Porto as a club where some kick a ball around, is seeing the club as an ideal, our great passion", he began by saying, in statements quoted in the newspaper O Jogo.
"In my 42 years I have had some opponents. Doctor Martim Soares was an opponent with the greatest elevation and today gives me the pleasure and honour of being here in the front row. In the last election, I had opposition from Doctor Fernando Rio, who without me asking publicly expressed his support for my candidacy, because he understood that it was fundamental that I win the elections", he added next.
"When they are contested with dignity, with truth and without slander and insults, they are welcome in the democracy that is lived and has always been lived in FC Porto. Security addressed by Villas-Boas? If he was ashamed he would be quiet."", he completed.
