Lazio thrashes Salernitana, but remains outside the European places
Lazio thrashed Salernitana 4-1 at home today in the opening match of matchday 32 of the Italian football league, but despite having one more match to play, they remain outside the European places.

The Roman team quickly showed their superiority over the last-placed team in Serie A, reaching 2-0 before the quarter of an hour, with goals from Brazilian Felipe Anderson, former FC Porto, and Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino, at seven and 14 minutes, respectively.
The bottom team still reduced to 2-1, two minutes later, by French striker Loum Tchaouna, but Felipe Anderson 'scored twice', at 35, leaving the way open for a quiet victory, which would be extended to 87, by Danish striker Gustav Isaksen.
The three points added by Lazio allowed them to temporarily climb to seventh place, with 49 points, but they are still away from sixth place, the last to give access to a European competition, the Europa Conference League, occupied by Atalanta, with 50.
With seven rounds to go until the end of the championship, Inter leads, with 82 points, followed by AC Milan, with 68.
