Angolan PR says that Angola, with Pedro Gonçalves, "must win" CAN2025
The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) today praised the determination of the Angolan President, João Lourenço, that Angola, of Pedro Gonçalves, "has to win" the 35th edition of the African Cup of Nations in football, in 2025.

Patrice Motsepe, who has been in Angola since Friday, on a 24-hour visit, was received today by João Lourenço, at the Angolan presidential palace, and expressed satisfaction with what he heard from the Angolan President.
"I liked what I heard from the Angolan head of State, he said that Angola has to win the next CAN, it would be good if all the presidents had this challenge" he said.
Motsepe recommended a greater investment in youth football, as he believes that Angola has potential, in terms of talent, and appealed, on the other hand, to Angolan companies to invest in Angolan football, as he believes that the country has enormous potential to increasingly assert itself in African football.
"Angola is a country with a lot of talent and I liked hearing the words of João Lourenço. This is good for the development of football in Angola. Football is, perhaps, one of the most interesting sectors to invest in, because it is a business that ends up being profitable, so I appeal to Angolan companies to invest in the sector", he said.
In CAN2023, won by the host Ivory Coast, the Angolan football team's dream of reaching the semi-finals of the competition for the first time ended, after the defeat against Nigeria, in the quarter-finals.
