FC Porto 'crushes' Benfica again and puts pressure on Sporting for the throne
Blues and whites won over the reds by 36-32.

FC Porto and Benfica kicked off the final stage of the national handball championship this Saturday, with the blue and whites beating their eternal rival by 36-32.
After the victory against the reds for the Portuguese Cup (39-37), the blue and whites sought to enter the final stage of Group A on the right foot, after having finished the regular stage with 57 points.
In a duel played in the Dragão Arena, the match had a balanced tone in the first half and this was noted in the draw registered at half-time (17-17). The second half started in the same way, but the final stretch of this period ended differently.
FC Porto outperformed their rival and ended up digging a four-goal advantage that remained until the final whistle.
Having done the math, the Porto players now have 32 points and are just one point behind the leader Sporting, who will face ABC on Sunday. Benfica maintains 29 points.
