Frederico Morais advances to the third round in Margaret River
Portuguese Frederico Morais qualified today for the third round of the Margaret River Pro, the fifth stage of the world surfing circuit, after beating the American Crosby Colapinto and the Brazilian Yago Dora.

In the last stage before the circuit is reduced to the top 22 in the ranking, and needing a good result to ensure his permanence, the surfer from Cascais won the ninth 'heat', scoring 15.37 points (8.07 and 7.3), beating Colapinto (14.5) and Dora (12.47), both relegated to the repechage.
Before the start of the Margaret River Pro, in western Australia, Frederico Morais was in 29th place in the hierarchy, with 7,310 points -- Hawaiian Ian Gentil was in the last safe place, with 10,075.
'Kikas' is competing in the world circuit for the fifth time, after his presence in 2017, 2018, 2021 and 2022.
