Benfica takes fans to Marseille: "It was an intense negotiation"

The president of the Benfica General Assembly, Fernando Seara, highlighted, this Thursday, the importance of the club being authorized to count on fans in the visit to Marseille, for the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.
"First of all, I want to emphasize, highlight and underline the role that Rui Costa and other people from Benfica played so that we could have fans here at the Vélodrome today. It was an intense negotiation, I witnessed it and I am a witness", he began by saying, in statements made to BTV, before the kick-off.
"Therefore, I think that our victory began a week ago, precisely more or less at this time, with the possibility of Benfica fans being present here", added the leader of the incarnates.
The former mayor referred to the Orange Vélodrome as "one of the most passionate stadiums in European football", and left a warning about the atmosphere that Roger Schmidt's men will face: "If we are the 'Inferno da Luz', here it is a tsunami of passions".
"It is essential that we are aware that Benfica with fans is worth more. Benfica with fans attenuates what we will feel later tonight. I want to continue to have the fans close, singing, feeling the 1904", he said.
"In complicated or less complicated stadiums, because the fans are the soul, and they are also the beginning and the end of Benfica. That is what I ask the team tonight, resistance, and the fans, the ability to make others suffer with our songs", he added.
