AS Roma defeated AC Milan again (2-1, 3-1 on aggregate) on Thursday, stamping their ticket to the Europa League semi-finals, where they will face Bayer Leverkusen, the most recent German champions. As a result, Portuguese player Rafael Leão, without any goals in the quarter-finals, is out of the competition.

At 12 minutes, Mancini was responsible for opening the scoring, after a pass from Pellegrini, followed by an even more reassuring goal from Paulo Dybala at 22 minutes, even before Lukaku's injury just before the half-hour mark. Celik was sent off at 31 minutes for stopping a counterattack with a hard tackle, but even so, the former Sporting team was unable to restart the game in time for a possible comeback.

José Mourinho's former team, where Portuguese players João Costa, Rui Patrício and Renato Sanches play (the first two on the bench), now led by Daniele De Rossi, was not bothered by the numerical inferiority in the match, conceding only 2-1 (3-1 on aggregate) at 86 minutes, through Gabbia, after a pass from Rafael Leão.

As a result, AS Roma advances to the semi-finals of the second biggest European club competition, facing Bayer Leverkusen, who drew at West Ham (1-1, 3-1 on aggregate).

Preview

Only one of the Italian clubs will advance. AS Roma and AC Milan face off on Thursday for a spot in the Europa League semi-finals, and it is worth mentioning that the team from the Italian capital came out smiling from the first leg of the quarter-finals in Milan, with a narrow 0-1 victory.

After that defeat, Rafael Leão's team also faltered in Serie A, with a draw against Sassuolo (3-3), while the team of Portuguese players Rui Patrício, Renato Sanches and João Costa were drawing against Udinese (1-1) until the game was suspended due to Ndicka's collapse on the field.

The game is scheduled to start at 8 pm (mainland Portugal time) at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, and you can follow the match live on Desporto ao Minuto.
