After Pepa's dismissal, Al Ahli suffers '9-0' thrashing due to 'fault' of former Sporting player
The Portuguese coach's former team conceded six goals while playing with one less player.

Just over a week after Pepa was dismissed, Al Ahli returned to compete in the Qatar championship, this Wednesday, ending up being 'massacred' with a rout against Al-Sadd (1-9), in a game in which Idrissa Doumbia, ex-Sporting, was sent off.
Right in the third minute of the match, Afif took advantage of the pass from Gonzalo Plata, another ex-Sporting, to open the scoring, followed by the accurate shots from Abdurisang (32') and Guilherme (35'), although Pepa's ex-team still reduced to 1-3, just before half-time, through Yansane.
Almost at the beginning of the second half, Doumbia saw a straight red card and started the true 'nightmare' created by the opponent, given that Afif did not take long to extend the lead (56'), followed by Ishaq's own goal (59'). At 69 minutes, Bounedjah scored the sixth, Housni the seventh and Bounedjah would score again, reaching a hat-trick, with goals at 80 and 90+5'.
With this result, Al-Sadd is the leader, with 46 points, distancing itself from Al-Rayyan, by Leonardo Jardim, as well as from Al-Gharafa, by Pedro Martins. Al Ahli Doha is the ninth classified, with 20 points.
