"Sporting's success is largely due to Rúben Amorim"
Former Bulgarian player is impressed by the Lions' coach.

Krasimir Balakov believes that a large part of Sporting's current success is due to Rúben Amorim. In an interview with the newspaper A BOLA, in this Saturday's edition, the former Bulgarian midfielder, who wore the Lions' jersey on 168 occasions, praised the leonine coach, pointing to the "glue" that unites the squad.
"The success that Sporting has is due a lot to him. To the players, of course, but he has been the thing that unites the players", Balakov began by saying, continuing.
"Glue? That. Rúben has been working well at Sporting for more than one or two years. It's been four. And he can continue to work very well at this club", pointed out the former Bulgarian international.
Balakov also praised Viktor Gyokeres, the Swedish forward who has been largely responsible for many of Sporting's goals this season.
"Very good, very good. A lot of strength, a lot of goals and helps a lot in defense. In my time at Sporting, the forwards were Cadete, Juskowiak and, initially, Mr. Gomes, who was a great player and who had a fantastic personality", concluded Balakov, who was in Alvalade between 1990 and 1995.
