Bayern Munich continue in the market for a successor to Thomas Tuchel. After the rejections of Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann, who renewed with the German national team, the Bavarians are continuing their intense search for a new helmsman. But there are those who already have two solutions to offer the Bavarian giant.

Lothar Matthaus, a historic Bayern player, hinted that he would like to see a German-speaking coach at the helm of the Bavarians. And in this chapter, he puts forward the names of Roger Schmidt, whose future at Benfica is in doubt, and Ralf Rangnick, who is currently the coach of the Austrian national team.

"Alonso would have been the great solution, Nagelsmann would also have been a top solution. Now I only see two candidates if it is a German-speaking candidate. Ralf Rangnick and Roger Schmidt", began by writing Mattahus, in the usual column he signs in Sky Sports Germany.

Regarding the suggestion of Roger Schmidt, the former player recalled that the coach has another two years of contract with Benfica.

"Roger Schmidt still has two years of contract at Benfica and costs a high transfer fee. Ralf Rangnick would be the favourite in German-speaking countries", he argued.

If Bayern Munich prefers to opt for someone who does not speak German, the former German international put on the table the name of Unai Emery, from Aston Villa.

"If the language is not a priority, I would prefer Unai Emery. He speaks English well, is successful and has proven what he can do anywhere", he stressed.

Matthaus also dismisses a possible arrival of Zinedine Zidane, who has been placed at the forefront by the international press.

"When it comes to Zidane, I'm sceptical about whether he loves Bayern and Germany or if he prefers to go to Juventus or Real Madrid again. I also don't agree with the idea of putting Ribéry by his side. He is a great legend in Munich, but should he now become Zidane's interpreter? He doesn't have much experience as a coach", he stressed.
