The Football Observatory (CIES) released a ranking on Monday, showing the central defenders with the most minutes played in the last 365 days, worldwide, with a highlight on the presence of... Nicolás Otamendi.
In a list led by Fidel Escobar (Deportivo Saprissa), with 6452 minutes, he is followed by Gil Nascimento (Santos, 5677), Fabrício Bruno (Flamengo, 5622), Gustavo Gómez (Palmeiras, 5452) and the Argentine central defender from Benfica, with 5266 minutes in the last 365 days.
It is worth mentioning that a portion of these numbers is also justified by his regular presence among the main options in the Argentinian national team, in addition to the many games with the Águias jersey, being an essential piece for Roger Schmidt.
