Roger Schmidt: "I don't accept the way some fans criticize"

Was it important to win after the match against Marseille? "Of course. It's always important after a disappointment. We wanted to show a good reaction and we played well, we dominated and in the end it was a clear victory."
Playing like this all season, could you be in a different situation? "Tonight we missed opportunities, but it's normal. You can't take advantage of all of them in football. We have to be a little more focused, use the opportunities, pay attention. We have to learn and improve on that. Today was a start, but it's something with potential."
Changes in the starting eleven: "Thursday was a difficult game. I thought I should give the opportunity to fresh players and they did well, it's good to finish the season with everyone showing their worth to reach the summer break with good feelings. We showed that we have a good squad."
Carreras' performance: "Very happy for him, he's motivated. He had a great chance to score and today he showed good moments."
Criticism from the fans: "I can't accept the way they do it. In my opinion, the players don't deserve it. The only way to deal with this is to know that there are Benfica fans who appreciate what we do. We have no problem with criticism, we are critical of ourselves, but the way they did it, how they behaved, how they make noise - not everyone, it's a part, but they are the loudest and they are the ones who stand out the most. It's not good for us, because it reduces our chances of winning games. If you look at Marseille, we won and in the last 20 minutes they whistled at the team. They sent us to Marseille with this feeling... In the end we saw a difference in Marseille. We don't want anything special, but we expect them to support the team in difficult and important games. This is difficult for the players. It's very demanding to play for Benfica, especially for the young players. But even for the experienced ones, because you are usually motivated by the fans, but if you are playing well and still have this reaction, it's hard to take. We know that there are many people who support us and we hope that on Saturday, against Sp. Braga, in our stadium, only the people who support us will come."
