"Time was manipulated". Textor presents alleged evidence of corruption

John Textor spent several hours on Monday answering questions from Brazilian senators tasked with investigating possible manipulation of sports results. The American, president of Botafogo, of Artur Jorge, and of Lyon, maintained the denunciations he made several weeks ago.
He accused Palmeiras, the champion in December, of bribing referees and also denounced players from São Paulo and Fortaleza, who, in his opinion, were guilty of manipulating results to favor Palmeiras.
According to the president of the parliamentary commission, Jorge Kajuru, during the conversations with the deputies, some of which were behind closed doors, Textor also presented "evidence" to support his allegations. It was not a conversation without content", said Kajuru, before promising to make public the most decisive elements (including an audio recording of a referee). On the contrary, it had content. After the meeting, Textor spoke, this time in public, to justify his approach. "We have to clean up Brazilian football. What we discovered is no different from the rest of the world, from Belgium, from France, from all over Europe. Result manipulation is a reality. (...) I own a club, I want to win championships and if I can prove, without a doubt, that the 2022 season was manipulated and that the 2023 season was manipulated, as well as (present) other evidence of anomalies, I can appeal to the sports court, to the police, and this legislative body can act", he guaranteed.
