Former Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick is in talks to take over as Bayern Munich boss, according to talkSPORT. Thomas Tuchel is leaving the Bundesliga giants at the end of the season and Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is also on Bayern's shortlist, but Rangnick is the favourite. The German replaced interim United boss Michael Carrick at Old Trafford in November 2021 following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with Cristiano Ronaldo among the players at the club at the time. The Red Devils finished sixth with 58 points, their lowest ever Premier League points tally, and Rangnick was then appointed as manager of the Austria national team on a two-year deal in April 2022, with his contract starting in June. Towards the end of his spell at United, Ronaldo said in his infamous interview with Piers Morgan that he did not understand the Austrian's appointment. "I don't know what is going on but since Sir Alex Ferguson left I saw no evolution in the club, the progress was zero.
