At 21 years old, Álvaro Carreras made his debut as a professional. He passed through the youth systems of Real Madrid, Manchester United and was loaned to Preston North End, Granada and now at Benfica he finally scored a goal.

He scored against Farense, in the last goal of the night, which made the final score 1-3. A very happy moment for the young Spaniard, who made a point of marking the moment on social media.

"Persevere and never give up, it took a long time and after much suffering and effort the first goal in professional football arrived, with this incredible Benfica jersey. May it be the first of many", he says.

"This is for my family who are always with me in the good times, but especially in the bad times. Especially for you father, for being the way you are, because I owe you everything. I love you family", he wrote.

Carreras' colleagues and ex-teammates commented on the publication. Alejandro Garnacho, from United, was one of them. Gonzalo Villar, from Granada, and Rollheiser, from Benfica, are examples.
