UEFA announced, this Tuesday, the nominations of Artur Soares Dias and the video referee Tiago Martins to be in the Euro'2024. And Pinto da Costa did not shy away from commenting on the subject.

Speaking to journalists at the inauguration of the works of the future FC Porto Academy, in Maia, the leader of the blue and whites made a point of warming up the atmosphere for Sunday's Clássico with Sporting and provoked Frederico Varandas, president of the lions.

"I see it with satisfaction, it is good news for Portuguese refereeing, regardless of whether it is better or worse, I will not comment, it is not up to me to do so. If I say anything I will be suspended and punished, so I cannot do it," Pinto da Costa began by saying, quoted by the newspaper O Jogo, before being ironic.

"I now have a strategy, when I want to say something bad about a referee, I will not do it myself. I will ask Dr. Varandas, because he can, that he is not punished. Regarding the Euro'2024, I am very happy. Artur Soares Dias has a brilliant career, this is the corollary of that career and Tiago Martins is Portuguese and because he is Portuguese I am also satisfied", he concluded.
