"We will invest more, we want to be the best training in Europe"
Alvalade Club completed the first phase of requalification of the University of Lisbon Stadium.

Frederico Varandas, president of Sporting, was present on Tuesday at the inauguration of the first phase of the redevelopment process of the Polo do Estádio Universitário de Lisboa, in an investment of over three million euros.
In this first phase, a synthetic field was built that is already available for training and games for the football and rugby teams, which features the novelty of having a cork filling instead of the usual rubber.
The leader of the Alvalade club was pleased with this step and pointed out as a goal "to be the best training club in Europe".
"It is with great happiness that we inaugurate this field. The completion of the first phase of this project is a very strong sign of investment in training. We will continue to invest more and more to provide conditions for our training and to have better kids. We want to distance ourselves more and more and be the best training in Europe, that is our goal", stressed Frederico Varandas to the club's media.
"We will start the second phase with the construction of covered stands in all fields, a new administrative building and eight changing rooms with a medical department. It is a practically renovated university center, this investment is three million euros and we will not stop here. New projects will come", he concluded.
