Girona surpasses Barcelona in condition and leaves Catalan derby 'on fire'
Triumph over Las Palmas is worth a minimum advantage over the eternal rival.

Girona put an end to a run of five straight away defeats early on Saturday afternoon, thanks to a 0-2 victory in their trip to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The match featured a crazy first half, with Sandro Ramírez missing a penalty in the sixth minute. In the 26th minute, it was Artem Dovbyk's turn to do the same, but this time David López appeared in the right place to score from the rebound.
In the second half, Jorge Figueroa Vázquez pointed to the penalty spot again in the 57th minute. This time, Artem Dovbyk made no mistake, beating Álvaro Valles and sealing the final result once and for all.
With this result, Girona now has 71 points, which provisionally puts them in second place in La Liga, 13 points behind the leader, Real Madrid, and one more than the third-placed team, Barcelona, who are yet to host Valencia.
This is a particularly important result, considering that the eternal Catalan rivals will face off at the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi next matchday. Las Palmas, on the other hand, remain in 13th place, with 37 points.
