André Villas-Boas was elected as the new president of FC Porto this Saturday. After an emotional victory speech, the leader of List B answered questions from journalists, and took the opportunity to send a message to Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa. "Now, it is time to bid farewell to Mr. Pinto da Costa, for everything he has done for FC Porto, if he so wishes. He will always have my respect and friendship, we will always treat him with respect and dignity for everything he has given to FC Porto. I hope that this farewell can honor the name of FC Porto", he stated. "I am grateful for his legacy, it will always be a sense of responsibility and relentless pursuit of victory, which is what he taught us. I hope to live up to what he leaves us", he stated, confessing to being "very happy" with this outcome. In closing, the former coach refused to elaborate on the future of Sérgio Conceição, who, it is worth mentioning, renewed his contract with the Dragons just 48 hours before what was the most contested election in the club's history. "I have no replacement, I do not wish to elaborate on this subject. This movement that now ends with this election, will allow the team to focus on its ultimate goal, which is to win the Portuguese Cup and third place", he concluded.
