Estoril beats Famalicão and takes a big jump in the escape from the relegation zone

Estoril took a giant step towards securing their place in the First Division this Sunday, with a triumph in the reception to Famalicão (1-0) allowing them to jump from 14th to 10th place in the championship. The Canaries, it should be remembered, had not won in a month, when they defeated FC Porto (1-0), also in Amoreira.
The only goal of the match was scored by Rodrigo Gomes, in the 34th minute, with a first-time shot, full of class, in response to Mateus Fernandes' cross, leaving Vasco Seabra smiling.
Armando Evangelista's team - who after two triumphs went on to add three games without winning - still tried to reach a draw in the second half, but the result did not change.
With this triumph, Estoril now occupies 10th place, with 33 points, five more than Portimonense, in the third-to-last position, when there are three more rounds to play. Rio Ave (32), Gil Vicente (32), Farense (31), Boavista (30) and Estrela da Amadora (29) were also left behind. Famalicão remains in eighth place, with 36 points.
