Real Madrid centre-back Antonio Rudiger gave an interview to the French program Carré on Tuesday, in which, among other topics, he addressed a potential clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
In a joking manner, the German centre-back promised to "destroy" the PSG captain, who could even be his teammate at Real Madrid next season. "There is still one stage to go before the final and that's what I'm focused on. Mbappé still has to face Dortmund, which is not easy. So, we are all focused on the next stage. If I play against Mbappé in the final, we will beat him. If he dribbles past me? I'll destroy him," said Rudiger. "Who said he's coming? It's not official. I think the best players in the world have played for Real Madrid. He's one of the best in the world, so it would work well," said the German, praising the French forward. "Mbappé is not a natural goalscorer, he's a winger. But he also causes a lot of problems. He's special. He won the World Cup at 18. He can become the best French footballer in history. Right now, it's Zidane," he stressed. Asked about the toughest opponent he has ever faced, Rudiger had no doubts and even mentioned two names: "The toughest opponent? I would say two. Cristiano Ronaldo and Aguero".
